Since 1951, the Cascade Grotto has been promoting recreation in, education about, and conservation of the caves of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We're a local chapter of the National Speleological Society, and we'd love to hear from you about your interest in caving!
Anyone is welcome at our meetings, on the third Friday of every month at 7:00pm. Please note that the Cascade Grotto meeting schedule has recently changed. Every odd month (January, March, May, July, September, and November), we will meet at the Shoreline Community Center, 18560, 1st Ave NE in Shoreline (see map, and directions below). Every even month except December (February, April, June, August, and October), we will meet at The Milton Tavern, 7320 Pacific Highway East, Milton, Washington, 98254. For information regarding the December holiday party, please contact the grotto (cascade_grotto@caves.org).
To get to the Shoreline Community Center from Seattle, take Exit 176 on Interstate 5 (175th St. N) and turn left at the light at the bottom of the off ramp. At the next traffic light (Meridian Ave. N) turn right. Turn right at 185th St. N (the next light). Turn left on 1st NE, which again is the next light. The Community Center is on the right. Don’t get confused with the Senior Center, which is on the end of the building. Enter the building on the southwest corner and find the Hamlin Room.
